Over the past three years, applications to our Youth Orchestras program have expanded by 32% and enrollment has increased by 79%. To meet this growing demand, we are expanding the program so more students in our community have the opportunity to experience the joy of making music in a supportive and challenging environment. 

The Charleston Symphony Youth Philharmonic (CSYP) is a full-symphonic ensemble that bridges the gap between the Charleston Symphony Youth Sinfonietta (CSYS) and the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra (CSYO). Designed for advancing middle and high school students, members of the Youth Philharmonic will perform standard orchestral repertoire while developing their technical, musical, and ensemble skills. Through weekly rehearsals, sectional coachings, and public performances, students gain valuable orchestral experience in a challenging and supportive environment as they prepare for future participation in the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra.
