The Charleston Symphony announces an audition for:
Second Clarinet
(full-time resident core musician, tenure-track position, with chamber music & education/community engagement duties)
Audition Date: Monday, May 13, 2024
2024-25 Season: September 16, 2024 – April 27, 2025
(32 weeks total including 2 paid vacation weeks)
Employment to commence September 2024
2023-24 Season Minimum Annual Salary: $31,187
Full benefits package including health, dental, instrument, and disability insurance; paid personal and sick leave; CSO retirement vehicle with 6% employer matching contributions
Interested applicants should submit a one-page resumé in PDF format, including two references and and any significant experience on Eb or bass clarinet doublings and titled “LastNameFirstInitial_clarinet”, e.g. “DruckerS_clarinet” by April 1 via the form below.
- Resumés will be screened by the audition committee
- All applicants will be notified via email by April 12 whether or not they have been invited to audition.
- A $50 deposit check (required to reserve an audition time) must be received in Charleston by April 29.
- Audition reservation cancellations after May 6 will result in forfeiture of the audition deposit.
- In order to audition, a candidate must possess all documentation that allows him/her to work legally in the United States.
- Prior to being offered employment with the CSO, all potential employees are subject to the CSO’s administrative hiring procedures, including but not limited to reference checks, background checks, etc.
