BIO

A member of the team since 2014, Kyle Lane is General Manager of the Charleston Symphony, and is responsible for organizational planning, logistics, and production execution. Kyle collaborates closely with the Artistic Department to produce programs, creates musical arrangements, and multimedia presentations. He also works with the Marketing and Finance departments to provide strategic support and data analysis.

An active professional trumpet player, Kyle has a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio and a Master of Music from the Mannes College of Music in NYC. As a performer and arranger, he has worked with worked with several high-profile artists and ensembles throughout his career. Notable highlights so far include assisting Itzhak Perlman and Yo Yo Ma, and performing with the Canadian Brass, Doc Severinsen, Sean Jones, John Faddis, Mark Bryan, Chris Barron, and Darius Rucker.  Kyle has also performed for George Lucas.

Kyle has performed on Broadway’s Disney production of “Mary Poppins” and with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra, South Carolina Jazz Masterworks Ensemble, Charleston Stage, and the Joe Clarke Big Band. In addition to producing and arranging music for the Charleston Symphony, he has lent his talents to a broad range of ensembles Ranky Tanky, Charlton Singleton, and the opening of the International African American Museum.

Originally hailing from Denver, Colorado, Kyle is an avid National Park fan and has proudly visited 29 parks to date with his family.
