The Charleston Symphony is celebrating its 89th season serving the community through engaging musical performances and enriching educational initiatives. Committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts, the CSO strives to be recognized for not only the performance and presentation of the highest quality music but also for engaging and enriching people of all backgrounds and beliefs through culturally meaningful and relevant programming for our communities. As the largest full-time performing arts organization in the state, the CSO serves nearly 50,000 adults and children annually, investing more than $500,000 each season in its education initiatives to reach students throughout the tri-county region.

With an annual budget exceeding $5 million, the CSO relies on philanthropic support to cover more than 50% of operating expenses. Recently, the CSO successfully completed the first endowment campaign in the organization’s history and now stands at a pivotal moment with the need to raise annual support in order to continue to elevate our artistic quality and deepen our community impact. Employing 24 full-time professional auditioned core musicians and more than 250 local and traveling guest musicians each season, the CSO hosts more than 150 concerts and activities annually throughout South Carolina, including main season orchestral and pops concerts, chamber music, education and family experiences, community engagement events, free performances, and much more.
