Sallie McLeod Gravley
Sallie joined the Charleston Symphony in July 2025, bringing a unique blend of creative passion, operational expertise, and leadership experience to her role as Advancement Operations Manager. A Columbia, SC native, Sallie’s deep roots in the performing arts began early – participating in musical theatre, a cappella, and touring both nationally and internationally with the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Girls Choir.
She earned her B.A. in Production Studies in Performing Arts with a Music Emphasis and a minor in Business Administration from Clemson University, where she was actively involved in the Clemson University Singers and served as Marketing Manager for TakeNote, Clemson’s all-female a cappella group. Her choral experience includes elite ensembles such as the Trinity Cathedral Choir and the St. Gregory Choir at Grace Church Cathedral, where she continues to perform for services, concerts, and tours.
Following her graduation in 2017, Sallie pursued both personal and professional development, earning her RYT-200 yoga teacher certification and completing a semester-long expedition with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in New Zealand. Through NOLS, she gained practical experience in leadership, wilderness risk management, and collaborative decision-making in dynamic environments.
Before joining the Charleston Symphony, Sallie spent six years in leadership at Half-Moon Outfitters, where she managed retail operations, customer service, and vendor relations. She has also supported high-end event production with Gregory Blake Sams Events and brings additional experience in retail sales, merchandising, and social media management.
Sallie is thrilled to combine her operational strengths with her love for the arts in support of the Charleston Symphony’s mission. A passionate enthusiast of the Lowcountry lifestyle, she enjoys practicing yoga, attending live music events, spending time near the water, exploring Charleston’s renowned culinary scene, and supporting the city’s vibrant arts and music community.
