Family Concert: Beethoven the Hero

What does a hero SOUND like? Heroes don’t always fly, wear capes, or defend cities – sometimes, you find them in music! 

Experience the full force of the Charleston Symphony, where every section of the orchestra has a role to play. Beethoven’s Third Symphony, named Eroica (meaning Heroic), unfolds like an epic adventure, filled with challenges, moments of bravery, quiet reflection, and triumph. Listen as the music grows from a single heroic idea into something vast, powerful, and completely unexpected. Families will discover the rhythms, melodies, and energetic musical contrasts that made the Eroica Symphony one of the most revolutionary works ever written.

With no intermission and a program designed for young attention spans, this concert is most enjoyed by audiences ages 5 and up.
